Care that Walks Beside You

At Matrescence Birthing Centres Gold Coast, care doesn’t begin at labour and end at discharge. We offer a complete, woman-led model that supports you through the entire journey of matrescence, from your first appointment, through birth, and well into the postpartum period.
Our care model is grounded in continuity, collaboration, and respect. Whether you come with your own private midwife or are introduced to one of our endorsed midwives, your experience will be guided by a trusted care team that places your voice, your choices, and your wellbeing at the centre.

Because birth is only the beginning.

Our Model of Care

Our Model

of Care

Physiological Birth, Designed for Safety

We believe in spontaneous, natural birth, undisturbed and guided by the body’s natural rhythm.

Our birth suites are purpose-built to support physiological birth with:
Circadian lighting
Deep water birth options
Birth slings and space to move freely
Calming, oxytocin-friendly design
We do not offer:
Inductions
Epidurals
Surgical & Instrumental Intervention
Operative Births (transfers occur if clinically required)
Should complications arise, we have established emergency transfer agreements in place with Gold Coast University Hospital, supported by Queensland Ambulance Service, for safe and timely escalation if needed.

Who’s Involved in Your Care

Your primary caregiver is your endorsed midwife, someone who walks with you through pregnancy, birth, and postnatal recovery. You’ll also be supported by a multidisciplinary care team that includes:
Lactation consultants (IBCLCs)
Co-admitting doctors - Obstetricians and GP Obstetricians
Endorsed Midwives
Pelvic floor physiotherapists
Postpartum planning video series by Dr Oscar Serrallach
and integration session with Dr Naomi Jansson

Our Midwives

At Matrescence Birthing Centres Gold Coast, care is provided by Endorsed Private Practice Midwives experienced clinicians who practise in their own right and offer true continuity of care across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

This model is distinct from hospital-based MGP programs and private obstetric care. Your midwife is your primary care provider known to you, chosen by you, and present with you throughout your journey. Care is not rostered or fragmented, but built on relationship, trust and consistency.

Our midwives share a deep commitment to woman-centred care, informed decision-making, and the protection of physiological birth. Working within a midwifery-led and medically supported framework, they collaborate with credentialed medical practitioners to ensure safety, governance and clear pathways for escalation while preserving continuity and the integrity of your experience.

Together, our midwives bring autonomy, experience and a shared set of values holding women and families with calm, respect and quiet confidence through one of life’s most significant transitions.
