A: We only use credentialled midwives.
A: Our centre is a licensed private birth centre. We specialise in physiological, spontaneous birth in a calm, spa-like environment. We don’t offer epidurals, inductions, or caesareans, but we have emergency transfer agreements in place with Gold Coast University Hospital, supported by Queensland Ambulance Service, if needed.
A: Yes. Through our licensed co-admission model, your care may be eligible for private health rebates. This allows you to maintain continuity with your own midwife while accessing the benefits of medical oversight and insurance eligibility.
A: If escalation is needed, we have formal transfer protocols in place with Gold Coast University Hospital, supported by QAS. Your midwife stays with you and our team are trained to recognise when transfer is appropriate, ensuring a smooth and safe transition if required.
A: Absolutely. We encourage support people to be actively involved in your birth experience. Our suites are designed with families in mind, offering space and comfort for your chosen support team.
A: We support physiological birth without pharmacological pain relief (e.g. epidurals). Instead, we offer a calm, supportive environment designed to help you manage labour naturally and confidently.
Our birthing suites include access to birth pools, slings, and plenty of space to move freely and find positions that feel right for you. You will receive dedicated one-on-one midwifery support throughout your labour.
We also offer non-invasive pain relief options such as Entonox (gas and air) and TENS machines to assist with comfort while maintaining a natural birth experience.
Our focus is on supporting your body’s natural process in a safe, respectful and empowering way.
A: Yes, we offer free information sessions for women and families exploring their options. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, learn more about our care model and decide if Matrescence is right for you.
We also hold guided tours of our birthing centres every Wednesday night, giving you the opportunity to experience the space in person, see our facilities and feel confident in your choice.
A: Yes, we welcome clients from outside the Gold Coast and can often modify our care schedule to support those travelling from further away. If you're based interstate or regionally, please get in touch, we’re happy to discuss how we can accommodate your needs.
