CalmBirth – Laura Hurrell

I’m Laura!  A registered nurse and midwife.

My passion for pregnancy and birth was ignited 16 years ago during my own pregnancy journeys when I attended a Calmbirth course. This spark lead me to change career direction and become a midwife and soon after that, the full circle was complete when I became a Calmbirth educator in 2021.

I absolutely LOVE being able to help couples prepare for the birth of their baby.

As well as teaching regular classes, I also work at Pindara Hospital where I get the priviledge of supporting women through their birth as well as care for them and their baby in the following days in hospital. This fulfills another of my passions which is supporting breast feeding through techniques based on the Thompson Method.

I realise the importance of creating relationships and building a community of support for mothers. If you are expecting your first baby or you are wishing to prepare for a different birthing journey than a past experience, then I can’t wait to meet you and support you and your partner.

I look forward to meeting you
